Two Donors Cover AED 22,741 for "Abu Zain Al-Din's" Treatment in Coordination with IACAD and "Hotline"

Two donors have covered a total of AED 22,741 for the treatment of 76-year-old Abu Zain Al-Din, a Sudanese national suffering from prostate cancer. The first donor contributed AED 17,741, while the second donated AED 5,000. In coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai and the Hotline, the funds were transferred to the patient’s account at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, allowing him to begin treatment as soon as possible.

The Emirates Today newspaper had previously published the story of Abu Zain Al-Din struggle with his illness on November 26, which began in August of the same year. The patient’s daughter expressed immense joy upon hearing the news of the donation, noting that it brought hope and happiness to her family, lifting their spirits as they saw a renewed chance for her father’s recovery.

Abu Zain Al-Din's daughter praised the donors for their swift response, emphasizing that such generous donations are characteristic of the people of the UAE, who are known for their humanitarian initiatives and commitment to helping those in need.

Describing her father's suffering, the daughter said, "In August, my father began experiencing severe pain in his lower abdomen, which worsened day by day. He consumed large amounts of water and herbal drinks, but eventually told us his condition had worsened to include urinary retention, blood, pain, and burning sensations. This led us to rush him to the emergency department at Tawam Hospital." She added, "After undergoing several tests, the doctor informed us that my father had prostate cancer and advised us to start treatment immediately using hormone injections for cancer."

She explained that the treatment costs amounted to AED 22,741, which was beyond their financial means, especially since they do not have health insurance to cover any of the expenses. She continued, "Due to our difficult financial situation, we had to discharge my father from the hospital, as we could not afford the cost of the treatment."
