The efforts of Emirates Today, for the 19th consecutive year, continue to alleviate the suffering of the needy, relieve the distressed, provide medicine and treatment to underprivileged patients, and assist students unable to continue their studies. During the past year, the total value of aid through the "Hotline" reached AED99,672,275, provided by donors, banks, charitable associations, and organizations, benefiting 1,417 cases. Over 15 years, the total assistance provided by the "Hotline" has amounted to AED 521,948,925, benefiting 8,066 individuals and four institutions.
"Medical treatment" initiatives ranked first among these aids, with a total value of 54,708,547 dirhams, benefiting 125 patients. "Debt relief" initiatives ranked second with AED 35,131,658, benefiting 472 humanitarian cases, including prisoners and those pursued legally. Assistance for low-income individuals came in third, with 9,200,000 dirhams benefiting 300 cases. Educational assistance ranked fourth with AED 450,250 for 18 cases. The Ramadan food basket initiative ranked fifth, distributing AED 100,000 to 500 cases, while rental arrears assistance ranked sixth with 81,820 dirhams benefiting two cases.
The "Hotline" assistance was distributed across different nationalities: 1,016 Emiratis received AED 43,119,299, 333 individuals from Arab countries received AED 29,038,663, 50 Asians received AED 23,207,475, six Europeans received AED 4,133,549, seven Africans received AED 96,439, and five Gulf nationals received AED 76,850.
The Head of the "Hotline" department, Mr. Ahmed Al-Muzahmi, reported that the "Hotline" received AED 50,508,188 in 2024 from charitable, governmental, and private institutions, distributed across 789 humanitarian cases. It also received 49,164,087 dirhams from individual donors, benefiting 628 cases related to health, humanitarian aid, difficult living conditions, and the release of prisoners. The total value of the assistance amounted to AED 99,672,275.
Islamic Bank of Dubai ranked first with AED 19,260,250, helping 250 cases. The charitable organization "Tarahem" ranked second with 8 million dirhams, benefiting 120 cases. The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai ranked third with AED 7 million, benefiting 138 cases. The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai ranked fourth with AED 6,576,000, benefiting 115 cases.
Al-Muzahmi also highlighted that the "Hotline" adopted six community initiatives during the past year, with a total value of AED 88,457,967, benefiting 827 humanitarian cases. These initiatives included "Yaak Al-Aoun 5", aimed at helping 300 citizens pursued legally in Dubai with a value of AED 28 million, "Yad Al-Khair 2" which assisted 160 cases in rental disputes, and "Your Donation is Life 2" for kidney patients, providing AED 45 million for 67 patients.
Additionally, the "Hotline" has contributed to helping 285 Emiratis secure employment opportunities in the public and private sectors from 2009 to 2024. The "Hotline" also receives daily complaints, suggestions, and observations, which are categorized into general and specific complaints received via the hotline, email, or WhatsApp. Most of the complaints in 2024 focused on services provided in various regions of the UAE and consumer-related issues.
