One Million Dirhams from "Dubai Awqaf" to Support "Yaak Al-Awn 6"

One Million Dirhams from "Dubai Awqaf" to Support "Yaak Al-Awn 6"

The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai has donated one million dirhams to support the "Yaak Al-Awn 6" initiative, which is enough to release 16 Emiratis who are financially distressed and facing legal action, and are among the targets of the initiative.

The initiative, which is sponsored by Emirates Today, the Dubai Courts, and The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, aims to release 212 Emiratis in Dubai who are financially distressed and facing legal action, with outstanding financial issues. The goal is to settle their debts, totaling 20 million dirhams, in order to reunite them with their families before Eid al-Fitr.

Emirates Today has been provided with the number of financially distressed citizens after their cases were studied and approved by the "Courts of Goodness" Committee at the Dubai Courts.

The "Courts of Goodness" handled the settlement of the cases of those covered by the initiative with the relevant creditors and succeeded in reducing the total debts from 38 million and 381 thousand and 597 dirhams to 20 million dirhams.

Other donations to the initiative include 2 million dirhams from the Emirates Islamic Bank, 3 million dirhams from the Beit Al-Kheir Association, AED 2 million from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, AED 1 million from Dubai Insurance Company, AED 1 million from Al-Waleed Real Estate Company, and 1 million dirhams from the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai. This brings the total donations to AED 10 million, which will help release 92 citizens who are part of the initiative.

Khaled Rashid Al-Thani, Deputy Secretary-General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai, praised the "Yaak Al-Awn" initiative, stressing that it reflects the values of solidarity and cooperation in the Emirati community and contributes to alleviating the suffering of families who have lost their breadwinners. It opens a new window of hope for building a better future for their children.

He added, "In line with our leadership's vision to promote values of solidarity and social cohesion, and in coincidence with the Year of Society, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai has contributed AED one million to support the initiative, helping release a number of financially distressed citizens and giving them a new opportunity for a dignified life with their families and community."

He continued: "This pioneering humanitarian initiative embodies the spirit of generosity and giving ingrained in the UAE society. Through this support, we reaffirm our continuous commitment to supporting national initiatives that contribute to achieving stability and happiness for members of society." Al-Thani called on all institutions and individuals to support this national initiative, which aims to release financially distressed citizens and extend a helping hand to them during this holy month, allowing them to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families.

Judge Khaled Al-Shamsi, Chairman of the "Courts of Goodness" Committee at the Dubai Courts, stated, "As part of our commitment to enhancing values of solidarity and community compassion, the 'Yaak Al-Awn' initiative represents one of the noblest forms of human solidarity. Through it, we work to build bridges of hope among community members and connect families with each other in a spirit of giving and social responsibility."

He added, "The initiative has proven, thanks to the support of philanthropists and supporting institutions, that it is not just a platform for financial assistance but a comprehensive system that strengthens community cohesion and offers struggling families a new chance to regain their stability and dignified life. The results achieved so far reflect the community's awareness of the importance of solidarity and confirm that goodness is deeply rooted in the hearts of its people."

Al-Shamsi pointed out that while the "Yaak Al-Awn" initiative continues, they invite everyone to participate in this humanitarian message, keeping the UAE always a model of generosity and solidarity, where no one faces their struggles alone, but finds support in the community during the hardest times.

Ibrahim Shukrallah, Editor-in-Chief of Emirates Today, thanked the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai for their donation of one million dirhams to the "Yaak Al-Awn 6" initiative. This donation is enough to release 16 citizens covered by the initiative. He emphasized that this participation is not surprising as the foundation is always at the forefront of contributing and participating in any national community initiative that benefits the country and its citizens.

He clarified that donations to the initiative have now reached 10 million dirhams, enough to release 92 citizens who are financially distressed and facing legal action.

He called on all government and private institutions and individuals to play a greater community role in supporting the remaining 120 citizens covered by the initiative.

It is worth mentioning that Emirates Today, the Dubai Courts, and The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai launched the sixth season of the "Yaak Al-Awn" humanitarian initiative, which aims to raise 20 million dirhams to relieve the suffering of 212 Emiratis before Eid al-Fitr. This initiative is part of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at releasing financially distressed citizens facing legal action in Dubai. It coincides with the joy of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr and is part of the newspaper’s initiatives in the Year of Society.
