The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai has announced the launch of the Dubai Ramadan 1443 AH initiative, which opened on the first evening of Ramadan. It will take place throughout the holy month in 11 mosques across the emirate.
The department hosts a group of famous reciters from home and abroad who recite the Tarawih and Qiyaam prayers during the nights of Ramadan.
Omar Al Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Department, said, "On the instructions of Director General Hamad bin Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, the decision was made to form the Dubai Ramadan Initiative team and launch the Dubai Readers event.
He added that the department organizes this event annually, where this group of famous readers gathers in Dubai to mark the nights of the holy month and celebrate it with worship, listening to religious lectures and lessons, and reading the Holy Quran, with the aim of reviving the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and strengthening the vanguard of the mosque and its lofty message. A religious and cultural charisma in the emirates of the country, which has had a great response from the audience of believers in recent years. The event attracts a large number of worshippers from other emirates to perform the Tarawih prayer and Qiyaam behind famous reciters.
Jassem Al-Khazraji, the head of the initiative team, said that the reciters were carefully selected in consultation with the authorities. The total of 62 reciters are citizens from the country, with fresh voices, students of the Maktoum centers for memorizing the noble Quran and some reciters from abroad. They were distributed among the mosques of the event in the Emirate of Dubai.
He added that the initiative has a package of activities to accompany the event of readers. These include organizing awareness programs, including religious lectures for men and women after Tarawih prayers in the mosques of the event and lectures in foreign languages for communities, holding workshops on memorizing the Holy Quran, Holy Quran competitions and special events for new Muslims. and a number of other activities.
