In a powerful reflection of social cohesion and in line with the directives of the UAE’s leadership during the “Year of Community,” the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced that its “Thimar Sadaqatikom” initiative has supported more than 57,000 beneficiaries during the first half of 2025, with total aid exceeding AED 26.4 million.
The initiative, which operates under the IACAD’s community-driven charitable programs in collaboration with philanthropists and donors, aims to address urgent needs in key sectors such as health, education, housing, and debt relief, in a manner that embodies the UAE’s deeply rooted culture of generosity.
Tangible Impact Across Key Sectors:
In the health sector, the “Sareer Al-Khair” initiative provided critical support to 46 financially distressed patients, covering treatment costs and essential medical equipment, with expenditures surpassing AED 6.3 million.
In education, the “Kursi Al-Ilm” initiative helped 174 students from low-income families continue their academic journeys, with support totaling AED 1.88 million.
The “Tafreej Kurba” initiative offered a new lease on life to 54 indebted inmates, enabling them to regain their freedom and rebuild family stability, at a total cost of AED 5.8 million.
To support housing, AED 1.25 million was allocated to help Emirati families in need secure safe and suitable living conditions. Broad-Based Charitable Programs:
In addition to these core areas, IACAD implemented a range of charitable initiatives including support for People of Determination, food distribution, Hajj sponsorships, mosque construction, and the funding of humanitarian and training programs. These efforts benefited an additional 56,989 individuals, with an overall value exceeding AED 11.2 million.
A Trusted Platform for Charitable Contributions:
Commenting on the initiative’s results, Mohammed Musabbah Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at IACAD, noted that the achievements reflect the public’s growing trust in the initiative as a transparent and reliable platform for directing charitable contributions to those most in need.
He reaffirmed the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing and diversifying its charitable programs to ensure sustainable social impact, in line with IACAD’s strategic goals of supporting individuals, improving quality of life, and further positioning Dubai as a leading global hub for humanitarian and philanthropic excellence.
