The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has completed its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan. The departments of their various sectors continue their meetings to activate the administrative and organizational procedures to achieve the plan of receiving the holy month. This plan will make all groups and segments of society strengthen the link between them through charity and religious, cultural and social dialogues.
Since its establishment 50 years ago, the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has been promoting the value of moderate Islam, the development of charitable work and the construction of mosques; according to international best practices, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which is a season of worship, obedience, charity and humanity.
Dr. Omar Al-Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Sector, said that the Department is currently preparing for the holy month of Ramadan by organizing religious lectures, seminars, and fatwa sessions throughout the holy month of Ramadan in mosques and a number of public and private institutions. Scholars from within the Department, as well as guests invited to participate from all Arab and Islamic countries are going to provide live and direct fatwas to the public. The preparation also including the distribution of “Ramadan bag” and the fatwa book, which includes the most important religious fatwas related to daily life and worships.
Al-Khatib added: "During the holy month, the Department is witnessing a remarkable social and symbolic movement through activities organized by its various sectors and departments. Mohammed bin Rashid for Islamic Culture Center, which is dedicated to delivering the rituals of Islam during the holy month of Ramadan to new Muslims from all communities and in more than one language such as Chinese, Urdu and English, in addition to the Arabic language.
The Maktoum Holy Quran Memorization centers also continue to hold Quran memorization courses to graduate a group of preachers during Ramadan as well as organizing re-conservation competitions and participate in local competitions. It also will provide special courses for people with determination, as the center efforts have recently been noticed in supporting this category by culminated the first keeper of the Holy Quran from people with determination. "
Marwan Al Shehhi, Acting Executive Director of the Mosque Affairs Sector, explained that the engineering and services department is currently carrying out the necessary maintenance works for the mosques, such as replacing the carpet of some of the mosques, and maintenance of electrical equipment such as air conditioners, loudspeakers before Ramadan.
Al Shehhi said: “The mosque affairs sector through its departments works to provide all the necessary needs to ensure the provision of the required services to ensure the comfort of the worshipers. In addition, the imams are chosen based on their memorizing the Quran and their beautiful voices. The Department consulted with them about the possibility of sealing the Quran in Taraweeh prayer.
Mr. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Charity Sector, pointed out to the efforts of the Charity Department, through cooperation with more than 20 charities, seeks to intensify the implementation of charitable projects and campaigns during Ramadan. This work is to promote and intensify efforts and to cooperate to implement projects and charitable campaigns to reflect the culture of good values of the people and residents of the UAE. It also contributes to consolidating the charitable and humanitarian work in the country.
We are preparing Ramadan tents near the mosques, with a focus on the industrial areas where there are many workers, in coordination with the Department of Health and Safety in Dubai Municipality, the Department of Civil Defense to ensure the implementation of health controls and emergency services and taking into account the commitment to preserve the cultural civilization of Dubai.
