Dr. Ahmad Al-Haddad: Greeting via social apps enhances corona prevention

Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad, Director of Ifta’s Department of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable activities Department in Dubai, said that the greeting through social media enhances the prevention of “Corona”, and that the direct greeting is not possible.

He added to Al Bayan newspaper that the Eid Al-Adha and Al-Fitr prayers are confirmed Sunnahs, stressing the importance of not missing her performance at home with the family, especially since her stay in the mosques is not possible this year because of this epidemic. Praying at home

With regard to whether there is a difference between performing the Eid prayer in the mosque or in the Eid prayer hall. Al-Haddad said: “It is better to be in the desert following the guidance of the Prophet, peace be upon him, for he would not pray them except outside the country, so that the place would be wide for people. Even if the mosque was as wide as the two mosques and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, so there is nothing wrong with praying in them.”

“Since the establishment of Eid prayer in the mosques is not possible this year due to the epidemic of the Corona virus, but the Muslim should be keen on performing it in his home with his family, and does not obligate to have a sermon.” He said. Food Imsak

“It is permissible for a Muslim to stop eating before Eid al-Adha prayer until he eats from the liver of his sacrifice, unlike Eid Al-Fitr, where Muslim enacts by taking a date before going out to the mosques, in the desire to comply with the law of Allah Almighty in breaking the fast, such as his compliance with fasting.” Al-Haddad said, “This year, people will not sacrifice in their homes because of the epidemic, and it is difficult for them to wait for the sacrifices from the associations or municipalities; and so the application of this year will be impossible due to the mercy of Allah Almighty.”

Visiting the graves

Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad touched on the issue of visiting relatives, friends and graves for greeting, explaining that greeting between relatives is required on every happy occasion, especially the two Eids, in order to build up a warm relationships, and failure to do leads to brutality and dissonance, which is forbidden by Sharia.

"As this Eid the visiting is not allowed, it occurs through social media platforms, as this achieves the purpose of keeping in touch with the relatives as well as keeping the social distant." He added. On the visit to the graves, he said, “As for visiting the graves, it is always required because of the consideration.”

The Director of Ifta’s Department emphasized the importance of displaying adornment for men, children, and women in their houses on this day of the year, as it is adornment day.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad emphasized that the most important deeds on Eid Al-Adha are to say Takbeerat/greetings all the days of Al-Tashreeq, the Eid prayer, the sacrifices, keeping in touch with the wombs, charity to the poor, ablution, wearing new clothes.
