IACAD, in collaboration with KHDA, has launched the "School muezzin" competition to discover promising vocal talents

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, has announced the launch of the "School muezzin" competition as part of the " muezzin Al-Farij 2" initiative. The competition aims to discover and develop promising vocal talents among students of private schools in Dubai. This competition comes as part of the strategic partnership efforts between the two entities and is aligned with Dubai's Social Agenda 33 and the Education Strategy 33, aiming to build a generation that is committed to Islamic identity and societal values, while connecting the younger generations with mosques.

His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, emphasized that the competition reflects IACAD’s focus on promoting the Adhan as a symbol that expresses Islamic values and their importance in daily life. He stated: "This competition aims to instill positive values in students and prepare a conscious generation that will serve as a role model in commitment to values, through performing the Adhan in a distinguished manner that combines the beauty of the voice with the accuracy of performance."

"School Muezzin" Competition to Promote Islamic Values Among Students

The competition will take place over three stages, covering different age groups, and will include qualifying rounds within private schools in coordination with the KHDA. Entries will be evaluated by a specialized judging panel based on criteria such as voice clarity, pronunciation accuracy, and performance excellence. The "Best muezzin" will be selected at each participating private school in Dubai, as well as a "Best muezzin" across all private schools in the emirate. The competition will run throughout the academic year, with the winners of the top positions being awarded tangible and cash prizes, along with certificates of participation for all participants. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the status of the Adhan as part of daily life and deepen students' connection to authentic Islamic values in innovative ways that align with future aspirations.
