A philanthropist takes responsibility for renewing the health insurance for the patient "Shahed" in coordination with the IACAD and "Hotline"

A philanthropist donated 9,131 AED to renew the health insurance card for patient "Shahed," who suffers from chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol, in addition to kidney problems, which have left him unable to work. Due to his financial difficulties, he was unable to pay for the required amount.

Coordination was made between the donor and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai through the "Hotline" to transfer the amount to the patient's account at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

The patient expressed his gratitude to the donor for this support, which gave him hope for recovery after his health had deteriorated. He also thanked the people of the UAE, who are always ready to help patients and those in need.

The story of the patient's suffering and urgent need for continued treatment was published by Emirates Today on January 27.

The patient (Shahed) shares his experience, saying, "In October 2018, while working, I felt severe pain in my lower back and side, swelling in my feet, ankles, and hands. I thought these symptoms were due to work stress, so I took painkillers, but the pain worsened to an unbearable level. I went to the hospital, and after tests, I found out I had kidney problems, in addition to a sharp rise in sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels."

He continues, "I spent two days in the hospital for treatment, and when my condition improved, I left after the doctor emphasized the need to stick to treatment and regular check-ups, and my health insurance covered the treatment costs during that period."

He adds, "However, my health continued to deteriorate, which led to me losing my job in March of the previous year, which had been the source of income for my family in Pakistan. I tried to find new work despite my condition, but without success."
