The total value of donations and charitable initiatives carried out by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) during 2024 exceeded AED 71 million. More than 60,000 individuals and families benefited from these efforts across various sectors, reflecting IACAD’s commitment to strengthening social solidarity and supporting those in need.
Among the key initiatives of the year was the "Sareer Al-Khair" (Goodwill Bed) program, which provided financial assistance to patients in need by covering medical treatment costs and purchasing essential medical equipment. This initiative allocated more than AED 15.9 million and benefited over 5,180 individuals.
In the field of education, IACAD launched the "Kursi Al-Ilm" (Seat of Knowledge) program to support students and their low-income families. With a total aid value of AED 4 million, this initiative helped 347 students continue their educational journey and achieve their aspirations.
Through the Housing Program, IACAD allocated over AED 8 million to provide decent housing, offering vital support to many families. Additionally, to alleviate the financial burdens of insolvent detainees, the "Tafreej Karba" (Relief of Distress) program provided substantial financial assistance of more than AED 20 million, leading to the release of 384 individuals and restoring stability to them and their families.
On a broader social scale, IACAD dedicated more than AED 22 million to supporting various humanitarian cases under the "Social Affairs" program. This initiative encompassed assistance for People of Determination, laborers, and those affected by disasters, benefiting over 54 people—demonstrating the extensive impact of these efforts on the community.
Commenting on these achievements, Mr. Mohammed Musabah Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector, stated: "These efforts reflect IACAD’s commitment to fulfilling the vision of our leadership in promoting values of generosity and social solidarity. We continuously strive to improve individuals' quality of life and develop innovative initiatives that ensure a sustainable charitable impact."
