under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Holy Quran Competition for school students in Dubai is set to launch. The competition aims to enhance the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, teach its scientific content, and perfect its rules for all age groups in schools. This initiative is part of "Ghiras Al Khair," which seeks to contribute to raising a generation that adheres to Islamic principles, the Arabic language, and national identity, while providing a competitive environment that encourages students to excel in Quran memorization and recitation.

In this context, His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Mehairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, stated: "The launch of the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Holy Quran Competition for school students in Dubai as part of the 'Ghiras Al Khair' initiative embodies the twinning agreement between the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and continues the initiatives aimed at instilling Islamic values and the Arabic language among our school students. Through its first edition, which kicks off at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, we aim to enhance efforts related to preserving the Book of Allah, promoting Islamic values and national identity, and stimulating positive competition among students and schools to focus more on Quran memorization initiatives."

For her part, Her Excellency Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, said: "We are pleased to work closely with our colleagues in the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department on this noble initiative, which instills positive values among our students and contributes to preparing a generation well-versed in the Holy Quran, committed to high morals and sound teachings. Additionally, it plays a role in encouraging positive competition among our students from various age groups, nurturing and embracing talented memorizers, honoring skilled individuals from the community of the Quran, and inspiring their peers to follow their example. We hope this noble initiative will serve as a qualitative addition to enriching the teaching and learning skills of students. We appreciate all the sincere efforts in our schools to develop our students’ skills and instill sound teachings in their hearts, and we encourage our schools to participate positively in this noble initiative."

This joint collaboration between the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority reflects the twinning agreement between both parties, which aims to support and enhance the community roles assigned to each, exchange knowledge and experiences, and further support Islamic cultural activities and events in educational institutions across the emirate, while instilling Islamic values among school students in Dubai.
