“Take Care of Yourself" Lecture by IACAD to Enhance Mental and Spiritual Balance

“Take Care of Yourself" Lecture by IACAD to Enhance Mental and Spiritual Balance

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, represented by the Islamic Knowledge Programs Department, organized an awareness lecture titled "Take Care of Yourself" as part of the "Containment and Comfort" lecture series. The lecture focused on empowering individuals to achieve balance and tranquility in their lives. It was delivered by Ms. Mona Tarish Al Alili, Senior Religious Guidance at the Nad Al Sheba Women’s Center. The lecture emphasized the importance of self-care as an integral part of personal and social well-being. It also highlighted that self-care is not a luxury but a necessity that enables individuals to contribute effectively to their communities and cope with the challenges of modern life with confidence and serenity.

The lecture began by shedding light on the concept of self-care from a comprehensive perspective that combines mental health, spiritual comfort, and time management. Ms. Al Alili emphasized that Islam encourages the care of both the soul and body, as they are entrusted to individuals and must be preserved. She pointed out that achieving balance between personal and professional life is the key to success and happiness, while also stressing the importance of acts of worship in calming the soul and their profound impact on handling daily challenges, stress, and fatigue. Self-care, she noted, stems from Islamic teachings that advocate for balance and moderation.

The "Containment and Comfort" lecture series aligns with the vision and mission of IACAD, supporting Dubai’s aspirations for sustainable development, public welfare, and the continuous effort to build a strong, stable community that enjoys tranquility and prosperity.
