The Dubai International Holy Quran Award, affiliated with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, is preparing to conclude the final qualifying rounds of the male category in the 26th edition of the Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition. A distinguished group of Quran memorizers from various emirates across the UAE are competing in the seven branches of the competition, showcasing their mastery of the Holy Quran.
The fifth and final day of the qualifiers will feature remarkable recitations by participants from Egypt, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates, as they perform their evaluations before the judging panel across memorization categories ranging from the entire Quran (30 parts) to Juz’ Amma, with close attention paid to the accuracy and quality of their recitations.
Among the participants on the final day are Omar Jalal Abbas Mohammed from Egypt in the first branch (30 parts), Luqman Ahmed Mohammed Badruddin from Bangladesh, and Hamidullah Sarwari from Afghanistan in the second branch (20 parts from the end). Also competing are Hamad Haroon Dashti and Abdullah Ahmed Al Marzouqi from the UAE in the third branch (10 parts from the end), as well as Abdullah Mohammed Hashim and Hussain Yahya Saad from Sri Lanka and Egypt in the fourth branch.
Additionally, Abdullah Mohammed Sharif Al Khouri, Mohammed Yousef Yousef, Abdullah Khalid Al Bedwawi, and Ahmed Isa Al Tunaiji will participate in the categories ranging from five parts to Juz’ Amma, representing several certified Quran memorization centers in Dubai, including Maktoum Centers, Khalfan Center, and Amina bint Obaid Center for Quran Memorization.
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai emphasized that these qualifying rounds represent a key milestone in the competition’s journey, embodying the wise leadership’s vision to support Quran memorizers and encourage excellence in Quran memorization, recitation, and Tajweed. The department noted that the strong participation reflects the high level of trust and prestige that the competition enjoys among local Quran contests.
The qualifying rounds will conclude with the organizing committee announcing the end of the male category’s final stage, paving the way for the female category competitions to begin next week as part of the comprehensive program of the competition, which continues under the supervision of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai.
