Over Half a Million Worshippers in Dubai Mosques Since the Start of Ramadan as Part of the “Dubai reciters" Initiative

Dubai mosques have witnessed remarkable attendance since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, with the number of worshippers in the Isha and Taraweeh prayers exceeding half a million. This is part of the “Dubai reciters" initiative organized by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai.

Mohammed Musbah Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector and General Coordinator of the "Ramadan in Dubai" initiative, confirmed that this impressive turnout from worshippers reflects the positive impact the initiative has on people’s hearts. He pointed out that this year's focus on young Emirati talents aligns with the leadership's direction to empower youth and enhance their role in serving the community.

He added that the initiative aims to instill a sense of belonging and preserve national identity through the Emirati voices, which have gained wide resonance and admiration from worshippers.

This significant turnout highlights the ongoing success of the initiative, which this year has focused on showcasing young Emirati talents by hosting Emirati readers and participants in the "localization of pupil," "Imam Al-Freej," and "Muezzin Al-Freej" programs, who possess captivating voices and impactful recitations. The goal is to spotlight young national talents in the fields of leading prayers and Qur'anic recitation. The initiative has been well-received by the community, as it promotes local identity and reinforces the role of youth in spreading religious values in society.

The initiative has also provided worshippers with the opportunity to listen to the most beautiful recitations and finest voices from a select group of readers close to their homes.
