Over 10,000 Meals on Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work: A Volunteer Initiative by the IACAD

In conjunction with Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work and in celebration of the Year of Community, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department launched a volunteer initiative aimed at fostering a culture of giving and enhancing humanitarian and volunteer values. This initiative honors the memory of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and follows the guidance of the leadership in supporting charitable and volunteer work.

The initiative saw the participation of 9 government and private entities, along with more than 285 volunteers who contributed 900 volunteer hours, resulting in the distribution of over 10,000 meals to support those in need, clearly reflecting the spirit of community cooperation and solidarity.

In this regard, Mohammed Musabeh Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, said: "The launch of this initiative, coinciding with Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work and the Year of Community, reflects IACAD’s commitment to continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in instilling the values of giving and humanitarian work."

Dhahi added that the participation of entities, institutions, and volunteers in this initiative is a clear testament to the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility that community members possess. It also strengthens strategic partnerships that contribute to the sustainability of charitable work”

IACAD emphasized that this initiative is part of its strategy to promote the culture of volunteering and instill the values of giving, in line with the country's efforts to support humanitarian and community initiatives that enhance social cohesion and solidarity.
