As part of the "Community Year 2025" initiative, which aims to realize a national vision that strengthens shared values and enhances human connections, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has launched the "Masajid Al Freej" initiative. This initiative provides every individual with the opportunity to contribute effectively to the care and upkeep of nearby mosques, fostering a sense of community responsibility and embodying the spirit of solidarity through collective efforts to serve the houses of Allah. The initiative reflects IACAD’s strategy for the years 2025-2027 under the slogan "Closer to the Community," ensuring the sustainability of initiatives that strengthen the bonds between community members and institutions.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director-General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, emphasized that the initiative comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to make giving a way of life. H.E explained that "Masajid Al Freej" meets the individual's need for giving, as it strengthens a sense of belonging and deepens the feeling of responsibility towards the community, which positively impacts everyone.
His Excellency added that, driven by a desire to be closer to the community and understand its needs, IACAD’s studied individuals' desires and aspirations regarding opportunities to care for mosques. It became essential to create convenient ways that allow people to become active participants in the houses of Allah through simple and flexible methods.
He pointed out that this initiative acts as a reliable bridge between the community and mosques, strengthening the authentic relationship between people and places of worship, making giving a deeply rooted value that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity in the neighborhoods.
The initiative offers a variety of opportunities for the community to be involved in the formation of mosques through carefully designed packages that meet different needs, such as "Masayidna Amanah," which provides comprehensive annual care for mosques, "Masidna Nadhifa," which allows individuals to contribute to mosque cleaning with monthly options starting at just AED10, and "Sajada Al-Khayr," which contributes to renewing mosque carpets.
Additionally, there is "cooling them," which provides support for the maintenance or installation of air conditioning systems, as well as "Madhilat Masidna," which allows for the creation of external shelters to serve worshippers.
In turn, Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al-Mansoori, Director of Customer Service and the manager of the initiative, clarified that " Masajid Al Freej" was launched based on a deep understanding of the community’s needs and its attachment to mosques. He affirmed that every contribution, no matter how small, makes a big difference. Al-Mansoori added that the initiative strengthens individuals' roles in taking on their community responsibilities by providing easy means of participation, making every contribution a success story that benefits everyone.
This initiative is part of Dubai’s strategic directions to promote community and humanitarian work, where secure and transparent channels have been provided to ensure that contributions reach the mosques, resulting in a direct and sustainable impact.
