The Department of the Maktoum holy Quran memorization centers of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai issued a report including the accomplishments during the first half of 2020. The centers announced that they held 246 sessions for memorizing the Quran “remotely” through advanced programs, where 3564 students joined the sessions, in line with the precautions measures that guarantees the safety of students.

25 students in Maktoum centers have memorized the whole Quran, in which 17 of them were students remotely, and 8 students were direct teaching at the beginning of the current year. 5 students obtained a ijâzah with a chain of narrators going all the way to Prophet Muḥammad “remotely”, in which 3 of them 3 remote students, and 2 students direct teaching at the beginning of the year. 218 group of specialized and distinguished supervised the students.

The report stated that the mentors and directors have transferred the process of supervising the sessions to remote evaluation, and the number of visits of the mentors and directors reached 6057 remote visits during the first half of this year.

“Based on the leadership’s belief in the importance of continuing the work and learn despite all the challenges, the Maktoum Centers took quick steps to continue the Quranic episodes and its various activities. It all comes together after the directives of the General Director of IACAD and the follow-up of Dr. Omar Al-Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Sector to ensure continuity of education for all citizens and residents in the centers.” Hamad Muhammad Al-Khazraji, Director of the Department of the Maktoum holy Quran memorization centers said.

Al-Khazraji stressed that many families were positive to sign their sons and daughters to these sessions after sensing how the centers have developed by providing the best advanced technical and visual means to ensure that the center will grant the students wishes of memorizing the Quran and learn about the Islamic religion and its values and teachings.

“The memorization sessions that were held through visual communication programs comes as a part of the centers ’commitment to take all precautionary measures, and that the students, through memorizing the whole Qur’an, have become an icon for facing challenges.” Al-Khazraji said.

Director of the Department of the Maktoum holy Quran memorization centers praised the role of the families through their care and follow-up to their children, as it is one of the most important reasons for students to reach these advanced levels. Al-Khazraji stressed the keenness of IACAD in taking care of the students who are willing to memorize the Quran as well as the ones who memorized the whole Quran.

It is worth mentioning that the Maktoum holy Quran memorization centers provide educational sessions for the Quran, such as learning the provisions of intonation, knowing the rulings of readings, and learning new readings.
