January 6th  is the final for Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Holy Quran Competition

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has launched the "Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Holy Quran Competition for school Students in Dubai," in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) as part of the "Ghiras Al Khair" initiative. The competition aims to promote the memorization, recitation, and study of the Holy Quran along with the science of Tajweed and relevant texts.

The competition targets all age from grade 1 to grade 12, including four categories in Quran memorization: memorization of the Quran, best recitation, memorization of Islamic texts, and memorization of Tajweed texts, along with a special category for people of determination.

Mr. Abdullah Abu Bakr Saad, Executive of Quran Affairs and Competitions and the competition's official, appreciated the fruitful efforts and ongoing support from the KHDA, alongside the notable participation from the 26 selected schools in this first round. He emphasized that the collective support and endeavors are ongoing to foster a generation that memorizes the Quran, upholding its Islamic principles and national identity, and to create a competitive environment that encourages students to excel and showcase their skills in Quran memorization and recitation.

The competition official stated that the registration period for school nominations for the final qualifiers has been extended to November 18, 2024, with the final scheduled for January 6.
