IACAD signs a “Twinning Agreement” with the KHDA

IACAD and KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai) have concluded a twinning agreement. The Agreement aims to support and enhance the societal role assigned to both sides. Also, to support channels that achieve the common interest, increase cooperation and coordination, and exchange knowledge and experiences. Further, to promote and support Islamic cultural activities and events in educational institutions in the emirate.

This was in the signing ceremony, hosted by the IACAD at its headquarters in Dubai. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, the Director General of the IACAD, and H.E. Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the KHDA.

The agreement aims to enrich teaching and learning processes within the Islamic education curriculum, strengthen national identity, provide technical support to Islamic education teachers, spread positive behavior in the educational community, and reduce negative phenomena in society. This is in addition to the joint work to establish a distinct educational environment that embraces the Emirati child and consolidates Islamic values. The agreement further aims to establish a culture of charitable work and spread the values of solidarity and social responsibility.

The agreement focuses on enhancing joint cooperation and coordination between the two sides. This includes many initiatives and programs aimed at spreading religious awareness among emerging generations, the “Girass Al_Khair” project included. The project aims to enhance understanding of religious worship among young people through awareness programs. Also, the “Farij Imam/Muezzin” project. To enhance religious awareness of the role of the imam or muezzin in the school community and expand its scope to include schools and universities. “Ajyal” program, to educate students about important social phenomena, and organize Holy Quran memorization competitions between schools. This is to promote sound behavior, Islamic values, and positive competitiveness among students.

“This agreement is driven by the common interest of both sides in strengthening the bonds of institutional communication and striving to establish new strategic partnerships that achieve more joint work and cooperation, which benefits both sides, and contributes to achieving the goals of Dubai Social Agenda 33, established by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. In particular, those related to building an educational system that responds to Dubai’s future ambitions in light of the scientific progress that the world is witnessing today.” H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, the Director General of IACAD commented, “It is necessary to have more channels of knowledge with partners, and develop new knowledge tools that meet the needs of community life in the emirate, and contribute to enhancing the quality of life at the Islamic scientific, cultural and educational levels.”

For her part, H.E. Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the KHDA, said: “Cooperation with our partners in IACAD is welcomed. It is to enhance the participation of the educational community in various initiatives and programs aimed at spreading positive values among emerging generations, and spreading the values of giving, solidarity and social responsibility among students and educational staff in the Emirate of Dubai within an educational environment that embraces and supports national identity and tolerant Islamic teachings.”

“This agreement represents an important step to unify our efforts and expertise to achieve our common goals and achieve the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.” H.E. added, “The joint cooperation with our colleagues in IACAD under the agreement will contribute to providing reliable scientific sources to develop and enrich the Islamic education curriculum. Also, to provide technical support to education teachers, and educate students and educational staff about important social phenomena”.

The agreement provides for the strengthening of joint cooperation between the two sides. In particular, enriching the Islamic education curriculum and providing educational programs to raise awareness of the educational community. The educational staff who have recently arrived in the country will benefit from training courses and educational materials on topics related to Islamic values and how they are important to strengthen national identity. The agreement also aims to provide an educational environment that enhances Islamic values and national identity for Emirati children.

The agreement is a part of the IACAD’s efforts to create new partnerships and strengthen communication channels with government agencies in the emirate. This is to improve the performance and efficiency of the sector and ensure its sustainability.
