The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has announced the launch of its 2026 Ramadan agenda at the Umm Al Sheif Islamic Cultural Center. The integrated program combines spiritual, educational, and community dimensions, reinforcing family cohesion and community empowerment in alignment with the UAE leadership’s directives during the “Year of the Family,” and further establishing Dubai as a global model in supporting humanitarian and community initiatives.

The agenda begins with the “Multaqana” (Our Gathering) event, which is expected to welcome more than 100 prominent Emirati businesswomen and leading female figures from the community. The event will provide a dynamic dialogue platform aimed at strengthening community partnerships and opening new avenues for cooperation.

On the spiritual front, the center is organizing the third edition of “Mawasem Al Khair” (Seasons of Goodness), featuring a series of morning and evening lectures delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams. The sessions will be presented by a distinguished group of female preachers and lecturers specializing in religious guidance and Islamic counseling. The topics will focus on deepening the values of tolerance and moderation in Islam, reinforcing ethical principles in daily life, and cultivating a culture of mindful worship based on understanding, reflection, and application. The program also highlights the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan as a school for spiritual purification and both personal and social reform. It contributes to strengthening family cohesion, building a supportive faith-based home environment, and promoting a culture of generosity and social responsibility.

In this context, Maryam Thani Al Matrooshi, Acting Director of Umm Al Sheif Islamic Cultural Center, affirmed that the month of Ramadan represents a renewed annual opportunity to enhance the spiritual and societal impact of the center’s programs. She noted that this year’s Ramadan agenda has been carefully designed as a comprehensive platform that integrates spiritual development, knowledge empowerment, and economic support for families.

She further explained that these initiatives align with the strategy of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in positioning mosques and Islamic cultural centers as faith-based and knowledge-driven community hubs that contribute to enhancing quality of life, spreading a culture of generosity and solidarity, and creating an inspiring Ramadan environment that deepens the spirit of compassion and social cohesion. This, in turn, reinforces Dubai’s standing as a leading model in sustainable community development.

The Ramadan agenda forms part of the Department’s broader strategy aimed at building a cohesive and enlightened society—religiously and intellectually—enhancing quality of life, strengthening national identity and authentic values, and supporting Dubai’s developmental vision while advancing its leadership in sustainable community initiatives during the holy month.
