As part of its ongoing efforts to regulate charitable work and strengthen the governance of humanitarian initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai held a coordination meeting with charitable associations and institutions operating in the Emirate to discuss the mechanism for unifying approved Ramadan coupon prices, in a way that maximizes charitable impact and ensures assistance reaches beneficiaries efficiently.
During the meeting, it was agreed to unify the prices of Ramadan coupons as follows: the Iftar for Fasting Persons coupon was set at AED 15, the Zakat Al-Fitr coupon at AED 25, and the Eid Clothing coupon was approved with values ranging between AED 5 and AED 50. Additionally, the Ramadan Food Basket (Mir Ramadan) coupon was approved at two values: AED 250 and AED 500. This structure takes into account the diverse needs of beneficiary families while providing flexibility for donors’ contributions.
The Department emphasized that unifying coupon prices aligns with its direction to regulate charitable initiatives during the Ramadan season, facilitate procedures for charitable associations, institutions, and donors, and enhance transparency in donation collection and distribution mechanisms. This approach ensures that support is directed to eligible beneficiaries within clear and approved frameworks, reflects the values of social solidarity and compassion embodied by the holy month of Ramadan, and strengthens community confidence in Dubai’s charitable ecosystem.
