In a practical embodiment of a national vision that champions Emirati talent and enhances their presence on religious platforms, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced the results of the Minbar Localization Initiative for 2025, which successfully localized 154 Emirati imams, preachers, and muezzins. The strategic milestone reflects the department’s commitment to advancing religious discourse, reinforcing national identity, and enhancing the role of mosques as influential community platforms.

This achievement comes as part of an integrated institutional framework adopted by IACAD to empower Emirati preachers and equip them academically, intellectually, and professionally—ensuring the delivery of a moderate, informed, and responsible religious discourse that combines the authenticity of Islamic tradition with an understanding of contemporary realities. The initiative aims to address community needs with clarity and depth, while promoting values of moderation, stability, and national cohesion.

The minbar localization initiative has gained notable societal attention and appreciation, as the presence of Emirati preachers in mosques has contributed to strengthening community engagement, improving interaction with Friday sermons, and increasing interest in their educational content, thanks to their relevant, realistic, and contemporary approach that resonates with the public.

Commenting on the initiative, Aousha Ahmed Obaid, Acting Director of the Human Resources Department, affirmed that the effort represents a strategic investment in the Emirati citizen, reflecting the department’s commitment to supporting national talent in mosques, enhancing the presence of national identity in religious discourse, and deepening moral and spiritual awareness among various segments of the community—particularly youth and families.
