The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has announced its participation and sponsorship of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition – DIHAD 2025. During the event, IACAD introduced the "Smart Charity Box" project as one of its main initiatives in the field of digital charity work. This move reflects IACAD’s leadership in adopting smart solutions to oversee the charitable work system and organize the operations of licensed charitable organizations in the emirate.
The "Smart Charity Box" is an advanced model for collecting donations using multiple digital payment methods, including bank cards, e-wallets, QR codes, and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, as an alternative to traditional cash-based donation boxes. This helps facilitate the donation process while ensuring the highest levels of security and transparency, by directly connecting to financial systems and providing real-time reports to the organizing entities.
Mohammed Mushbeh Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Sector, stated that the "Smart Charity Box" project represents a significant shift in donation collection mechanisms, in line with Dubai's digital transformation strategies. Dhahi pointed out that the project has proven effective in reducing operational costs and accelerating the delivery of support to those in need, thereby enhancing trust between charitable organizations and donors.
Dahai also explained that IACAD’s participation in DIHAD 2025 is an extension of its regulatory and supervisory role over charitable work in Dubai. He emphasized the importance of showcasing the smart experiences and innovative initiatives implemented by the department in organizing the work of charitable organizations and ensuring their compliance with the highest professional and religious standards.
Furthermore, he noted that this participation reflects IACAD’s commitment to strengthening its presence on international platforms and showcasing its ongoing efforts to develop the infrastructure of charitable work, building a sustainable digital system that keeps pace with modern challenges and supports humanitarian efforts with transparent procedures and reliable technological tools, ensuring that goodwill reaches those in need safely and efficiently.
