IACAD Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Imam Malik College to Enhance Educational and Professional Training in Islamic Studies

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has signed a memorandum of understanding with Imam Malik College of Sharia and Law, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of Islamic education, professional training, advanced scientific research, and the exchange of academic expertise, in line with the needs of contemporary Emirati society.

In this context, Dr. Omar Mohammed Al-Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Sector at IACAD, stated that this memorandum aims to provide specialists with more distinguished educational and training programs to prepare leaders among scholars and jurists capable of making significant contributions in the fields of Sharia and law, thereby contributing to the establishment of a knowledge-based and innovative society.

For his part, Mr. Yusuf Issa Al-Hamiri, Deputy CEO of Imam Malik College of Sharia and Law, emphasized the importance of this memorandum, which will enhance the practical and skill-based aspects for the college's graduates in the Sharia programs offered at both the undergraduate and master's levels. He also noted that the college will support the citizen mufti, preacher, and researcher programs led by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai by providing qualified Emirati human resources, along with exchanging expertise in preparing and reviewing specialized Sharia scientific research.

This memorandum is part of the joint efforts to support Islamic education in Dubai and to develop professional programs that support academic initiatives aimed at preparing specialized cadres in Sharia. It includes various initiatives that enhance capabilities and expand knowledge such as verifying the originality of research, coordinating scientific arbitration and linguistic reviews, writing cultural and religious articles, presenting specialized research, and preparing publication plans for IACAD.

The memorandum aims to support scientific research by funding research projects and providing academic consultations and training programs that contribute to developing the competencies and skills of Emirati cadres in religious and educational fields, preparing them to face societal challenges and support the national development agenda.
