The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has organized the 12th edition of the Islamic Institutions Quran Competition, aimed at encouraging different age groups to compete in the fields of Quran memorization and recitation. This year, 118 male and female participants from the licensed Quran memorization centers in Dubai are taking part in the competition at the Maktoum Quranic Center and Sciences in the Al-Warqa'a 1 area.
Dr. Omar Mohammed Al-Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Sector at IACAD, stated that this competition is more than just a competitive event; it is an important educational message aimed at emphasizing the Quran’s role as a cornerstone in raising generations capable of facing the challenges of the modern world with strong faith and sound knowledge. The Executive Director praised the efforts involved in organizing the competition and confirmed that it plays a significant role in shaping a conscious, Quran-aware generation.
The competition includes several categories that suit participants' levels of memorization and recitation, and a specialized panel of scholars and Quran experts were the judges to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and fairness.
This competition is part of IACAD’s strategy to enhance Dubai leadership in promoting Islamic values and raising Quranic awareness among younger generations.
