The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has inaugurated the Dr. Hussein Bin Ghatti Mosque in the Nad Al Sheba First/Meydan area, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop mosques and provide a comprehensive faith-based environment that meets the needs of the community. The initiative also reinforces Dubai’s position as a global model in caring for mosques and serving worshippers, in line with the vision of our wise leadership to promote religious values and enhance quality of life.
The mosque is built on a land area of 7,000.51 square meters and accommodates 1,308 male worshippers and 285 female worshippers, with a total capacity of 1,593 worshippers. The construction cost amounted to AED 18,596,600, generously funded by Binghatti Holding, reflecting active community partnership and reinforcing the culture of endowment and charitable work.
The mosque features a modern architectural design and includes a minaret, an iwan, a main prayer hall for men, parking spaces, accommodation for the imam and muezzin, and fully integrated service facilities such as ablution areas, washrooms, and designated spaces for People of Determination. It also includes water coolers for public use, as well as retail shops and internal parking spaces serving worshippers and the surrounding community.
The mosque’s inauguration aligns with the Department’s strategy to establish sustainable model mosques that adhere to the highest engineering and environmental standards, strengthen social cohesion, and provide a comfortable environment for worshippers. This reflects Dubai’s civilized image and embodies the commitment of our wise leadership to support religious and humanitarian projects and to promote the values of generosity and social solidarity within the community.
