IACAD Launches the 24th Maktoum Centers Quran Memorization Competition

IACAD Launches the 24th Maktoum Centers Quran Memorization Competition

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has announced the launch of the 24th annual Maktoum Centers for Quran Memorization Competition. The competition attracts a select group of Quran memorizers from various age groups, including participants from the Quranic Schools affiliated with the Maktoum Centers for Quran Memorization and its sciences. This competition brings together both young and old in an inspiring Quranic journey.

This year’s competition stands out by expanding its scope and introducing new challenges to enhance the level of competition, motivate youth and children to memorize and recite the Quran, and instill its noble values in the hearts of the promising generations. The aim is to help participants reach the highest levels of proficiency in memorization and recitation.

Dr. Abdullah AbdulJabbar, Director of the Maktoum Centers for Quran and its Sciences, confirmed that the competition is part of IACAD’s ongoing efforts to promote the noble Islamic values among the youth and to provide continuous support to its affiliated Quran memorization centers. He pointed out that the competition is expected to see wide participation this year, with competitors participating in various categories that cater to different levels of memorization.

The competition includes several rounds for different age groups, offering memorizers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, the opportunity to showcase their Quranic skills according to the established rules and conditions of the competition. The final competition qualifiers will be announced on November 23-24.

A panel of judges, consisting of a distinguished group of scholars and sheikhs, will evaluate the participants' performance according to precise criteria, including recitation, performance, and Tajweed. It is expected that the winners will be honored in an official ceremony to be held specifically for this occasion in March 2025, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to Quran memorization.
