In support of its ongoing efforts to nurture young girls and develop their intellectual and personal skills, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, represented by the Islamic Knowledge Programs Department – Nad Al Sheba Women’s Center, has announced the launch of the Girls’ Reading Club. The club will be held in person every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, targeting girls aged 9 to 16. It offers a stimulating educational environment that encourages creativity and knowledge exploration, with limited seats available to ensure active and meaningful participation. This allows girls to enjoy a unique learning experience that instills a love for reading and supports their intellectual and personal growth through interactive discussions and diverse enrichment activities.

The launch of the Girls’ Reading Club addresses a vital need to empower young girls with tools for comprehension and analysis, guiding them toward building a sustainable habit of reading as a way of life. It also aims to provide a safe and supportive space that fosters dialogue, respect for differing opinions, and the development of critical thinking and creative expression.

The club places special emphasis on instilling values such as discipline, commitment, and teamwork through group projects like book review preparations, short audio recordings, or mini exhibitions of the books read. These activities aim to enhance the girls’ sense of achievement and strengthen their presentation and communication skills.

The Islamic Knowledge Programs Department emphasized that seats are limited to ensure deeper engagement and high-quality educational experiences. The club reflects the department’s mission to nurture a generation of conscious readers capable of independent thinking and meaningful community contribution.
