IACAD Launches “Ghiras winter 2025” with an Emirati Theme to Foster Values and Prepare the Generation for a Season of Creativity Following the great success of the summer programs organized by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD), and based on the positive feedback and strong engagement of parents with the “Ghiras Al-Mawasim” (Seasons of Growth) initiative, the department announced the launch of the “Ghiras Al-Shita 2025” (Winter Growth 2025) program under the theme “Planting Values, Illuminating the Future.”
The program is dedicated to girls aged 7 to 16 years and will run from December 8 to 18, 2025, across several IACAD centers in Dubai and its surrounding areas, in line with the department’s strategy “Closer to the Community.”
This year’s edition introduces a fresh identity and an innovative Emirati theme that reflects the country’s unique cultural and social environment, inspired by the winter season that children and families eagerly await all year round. Through this initiative, the department aims to prepare the younger generation to embrace the season with positivity and practical values translated into interactive, real-life lessons that combine fun, learning, and hands-on experiences.
The department emphasized that the “Ghiras Al-Shita” initiative embodies its mission to build a value-driven, identity-rooted generation aligned with future aspirations. It also supports IACAD’s strategic goal of strengthening the role of Islamic and cultural centers as educational and knowledge-based hubs that contribute to Dubai’s vision of a cohesive and creative society.
In this context, Sheikha Sultan Al-Marri, Head of the Ghiras Al-Shita initiative, stated that the program is one of the distinctive initiatives that invests the winter break in developing life and leadership skills among youth, preparing a promising generation of future leaders capable of serving their community through activities that merge learning, creativity, and practical experience.
Al-Marri concluded by stressing that “Ghiras Al-Shita” continues the department’s efforts to empower girls and youth and to promote the concept of comprehensive education that integrates moral development, skill-building, and future readiness — in perfect harmony with the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to nurture a creative generation grounded in its faith and authentic Emirati identity.
The program aims to blend knowledge with values in a safe and stimulating educational environment that combines learning and recreation, offering a diverse range of activities including Quran memorization, Emirati etiquette (Al-Sana’a), self-development, life skills, leadership, and innovation. These activities contribute to building a balanced personality and a responsible citizen proud of her religion, identity, and national culture.
The program will be held across a selection of IACAD’s Islamic and cultural centers throughout the emirate, including:
Maktoum Center for Quran and its Sciences – Al Warqa’a 1 and Nad Al Sheba 4 branches, Umm Al Sheif Islamic Cultural Center, Al Mizhar Islamic Cultural Center – Al Mizhar 1, Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture – Al Barsha 3, Nad Al Sheba Women’s Center, Nad Al Sheba 1Hatta Community Center – Hatta.
