Within its mission to strengthen Qur’anic awareness and enhance the connection with the Book of Allah, The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, through the Maktoum Centers for the Qur’an and its Sciences, has launched the initiative “Al-Fatihah: Recitation and Reflection” coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. This specialized educational initiative focuses on mastering Surah Al-Fatihah in both recitation and understanding, using a comprehensive curriculum that combines correct recitation with deep reflection and comprehension of its meanings in an accessible, educational approach.
The initiative targets all Qur’an kindergartens affiliated with the centers, highlighting the importance of Surah Al-Fatihah as the foundation of prayer and its essential pillar. It aims to empower students to recite it correctly and consciously, while instilling its spiritual meanings in their hearts, thereby reinforcing Qur’anic values in their daily behavior and enhancing their understanding of the Qur’an’s message and objectives.
In this regard, Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim Abduljabbar, Acting Director of the Maktoum Centers for the Qur’an and its Sciences, emphasized that the “Al-Fatihah: Recitation and Reflection” initiative stems from a firm belief that caring represents the cornerstone of building sound Qur’anic awareness among youth. He noted that mastering Surah Al-Fatihah in recitation and comprehension strengthens the performance of prayer and embeds spiritual meanings in the students’ daily conduct.
He added that the initiative embodies the Department’s approach to providing specialized educational programs that integrate cognitive and educational aspects, contributing to nurturing a generation closely connected to the Qur’an both in recitation and practice.
This initiative is part of IACAD’s broader Ramadan program framework dedicated to serving and teaching the Book of Allah, reflecting its vision to raise a generation grounded in its Islamic identity and authentic values, capable of drawing Qur’anic guidance in both academic and practical life, in line with the directives of our wise leadership to build a cohesive society rooted in religious awareness and Islamic culture.
