The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in (IACAD) inaugurated Zamzam Mosque in Al Barsha South 2, established through a generous donation from the Abdul Wahed Al Rostamani Group and his grandchildren, in tribute to his humanitarian legacy and contributions to charitable and community development initiatives.
The mosque represents a new addition to Dubai’s religious landscape, accommodating approximately 850 worshippers, including 700 men and 150 women. Built on a land area of 3,356.99 square meters, it meets the needs of residents in the area and surrounding neighborhoods, providing a serene spiritual environment for prayers and religious observances.
The mosque’s architectural design reflects a contemporary vision inspired by the spirit of Islamic architecture. It features a spacious main prayer hall, a dedicated women’s prayer area, a minaret, an arcade (iwan), and residential units for the Imam and Mu’adhin. It also includes fully integrated service facilities such as ablution areas and restrooms built to the highest health standards. The mosque is equipped with modern air-conditioning systems and an advanced sound system ensuring clarity of the Adhan and Friday sermon, in addition to parking spaces and accessible pathways and entrances designed to accommodate People of Determination and the elderly.
In alignment with Dubai’s environmental sustainability goals, the mosque has been fitted with energy-efficient lighting systems and sustainable operational solutions, along with safety and security measures implemented according to best practices, ensuring the comfort and well-being of worshippers.
The Department reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to developing religious infrastructure in line with urban and population growth, while reinforcing the UAE’s humanitarian message as a global model for sustainable development and charitable work.
