IACAD Inaugurates Ali bin Abdullah Gargash Mosque in Umm Hurair 2

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai inaugurated the Ali bin Abdullah Gargash Mosque in Umm Hurair 2, in the presence of H.E. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, and H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai inaugurated the Ali bin Abdullah Gargash Mosque in Umm Hurair 2, in the presence of H.E. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, and H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, along with a number of officials and community dignitaries. This inauguration comes as part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to expand the scope of religious services and enhance mosque infrastructure in line with Dubai’s urban development, reflecting its continued commitment to building and maintaining mosques according to the highest engineering and service standards.

The mosque was officially opened with Isha and Taraweeh prayers led by Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy, drawing a large number of worshippers in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere that highlighted the mosque’s significance and its role in promoting religious awareness and fostering a sense of tranquility and social cohesion during the holy month.

The mosque was established through the generous contribution of benefactor Maryam Ali Abdullah Gargash, embodying the spirit of giving and social solidarity, and reflecting the effective partnership between the Department and community members in the construction and development of mosques, thereby reinforcing the mosque’s role as a spiritual and community hub.

The mosque represents a modern architectural model that blends authenticity with contemporary design. It accommodates 759 male worshippers and 190 female worshippers, reflecting the Department’s commitment to developing an integrated religious infrastructure that keeps pace with the Emirate’s urban and population growth. The mosque spans an area of 6,336.20 square meters and includes a minaret, an arcade, a men’s prayer hall, parking spaces, and residences for the imam and muezzin. It also features integrated facilities such as ablution areas, restrooms, water coolers, and designated spaces for People of Determination, ensuring a comfortable and safe worship environment.

Dubai Islamic Affairs affirmed that the inauguration of the mosque reflects its commitment to advancing religious infrastructure and providing fully equipped mosques that strengthen spiritual values and enable all members of society to participate in religious and community life with ease and dignity.
