IACAD Enhances the Culture of Volunteering on Zayed Humanitarian Day in Partnership with Government and Private Entities

IACAD Enhances the Culture of Volunteering on Zayed Humanitarian Day in Partnership with Government and Private Entities

In honor of the legacy of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and to reinforce the UAE’s approach to humanitarian work, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai organized charitable activities under the "Ramadan in Dubai" umbrella, coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan each year.

In this context, IACAD provided its employees the opportunity to volunteer and participate in efforts to organize and distribute Iftar meals, in collaboration with government and private entities. The goal was to instill a culture of giving and encourage members of the community to engage in humanitarian work. Entities involved in supporting and enhancing this initiative included Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Community Development Authority, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, and Talabat.

His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, confirmed that this event reflects IACAD’s commitment to its social responsibility. He emphasized that Zayed Humanitarian Day is an occasion from which we draw the values of giving instilled by Sheikh Zayed in the nation's conscience, adding: "We continue this approach today, inspired by the determination to create hope and achieve good for all. Every volunteer effort, no matter how small, leaves a significant impact on the lives of those in need, while enhancing the UAE's position as a global capital for humanitarian work."

For his part, Mohammed Msbah Dahai, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector and General Coordinator of the initiative, explained that cooperation between government and private institutions played a key role in the success of this campaign. He noted that employees and volunteers were given the opportunity to participate in organizing events, distributing aid, and contributing to various community initiatives. He also pointed out that the department is working on developing this initiative annually with innovative ideas that enhance the role of volunteering and support the sustainability of humanitarian work in the country, in line with the vision of the wise leadership.

This initiative aims to expand the base of volunteers through sustainable programs that encourage individuals and institutions to adopt volunteer work as part of their social responsibility. It reflects community cohesion and reaffirms Dubai's commitment to a sustainable culture of giving and humanitarian solidarity.
