The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has announced the names of the twenty child winners of the “Muzzin AlFreej” Challenge, a community initiative aimed at instilling love for the Adhan (call to prayer) in young generations and qualifying them to perform this great ritual in neighborhood mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. The challenge forms part of the Department’s programs designed to nurture children on sound religious values and strengthen their connection to mosques from an early age through a practical experience that combines learning and application—reviving the communal presence of the Adhan through the voices of its young, in a scene that reflects the unity of family, mosque, and freej (neighborhood).

The challenge witnessed wide participation from children, with submissions reviewed by a specialized committee that carefully assessed the fundamentals of the Adhan, proper articulation, and vocal performance to ensure fairness in selection and support emerging talents. The winners will be assigned to a number of neighborhood mosques, providing them the opportunity to deliver the Adhan during Ramadan—enhancing their self-confidence and granting them a deeply rooted spiritual experience.

His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, affirmed that the results achieved in the “Muzzin AlFreej” Challenge reflect the Department’s strategic direction in strengthening attachment to mosques through early investment in youth and reinforcing the place of Islamic rituals in children’s lives within an integrated faith-based experience.

He further explained that the initiative has moved beyond the framework of competition to become an organized educational and qualification pathway that has contributed to discovering and refining promising talents. It has provided children with a practical opportunity to perform the Adhan by assigning them to neighborhood mosques during the holy month of Ramadan—embodying the Department’s vision of preparing a generation confident in its religious identity and capable of carrying values and rituals with awareness and responsibility.
