As part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining the sanctity of mosques and enhancing their role as religious and community centers, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced the key achievements of the "Fareej Mosques" initiative since its launch on February 21, 2025. The initiative aims to improve mosque infrastructure and enhance their overall environment through community partnerships.
The initiative included carpeting more than 40 mosques across various areas of Dubai, using over 19,000 square meters of premium-quality carpet, with a total value exceeding AED 2 million. This step reflects the department's commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for worshippers, in line with the highest standards of mosque construction and maintenance.
Mohammed Jassim Al Mansoori, Director of Customer Service, emphasized that the "Fareej Mosques" initiative represents an effective model for promoting the values of cohesion and solidarity by encouraging individuals and institutions to contribute to the development and maintenance of mosques. He noted that the results achieved reflect IACAD’s dedication to continually upgrading mosque facilities in alignment with its strategic vision and in service to all segments of society.
Al Mansouri added: “We deeply value this responsible community engagement, which forms a key pillar in supporting community initiatives and continues Dubai’s legacy of giving. It also contributes to implementing high-quality initiatives that enhance the level of services provided in mosques and meet the aspirations of our wise leadership.”
IACAD concluded by reaffirming that development efforts will continue in the coming periods, covering additional mosques according to a well-thought-out plan that takes into account urban expansion and the needs of residential neighborhoods. This ensures sustainable services and supports the department’s broader community goals.
