Dubai Charity Supports "Your Donation saves lives 2" with AED 1.3 Million

Dubai Charity Association contributed AED 1,380,000 to the " Your Donation saves lives 2" initiative, which is supported by the "Emarat Al Youm" newspaper, the Al Jalila Foundation under Dubai Health Authority, and the the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. The funds will be used to treat and perform kidney transplants for 67 patients suffering from renal failure who require kidney transplant surgeries. The contribution will assist in carrying out the surgeries, providing necessary medications, and ensuring medical follow-up for the patients for two years post-operation.

The " Your Donation saves lives 2" initiative aims to raise a total of AED 46,157,970 for the treatment of the involved patients, which include 15 children and 52 adults, consisting of Gulf nationals, 24 from various Arab nationalities, 33 Asians, six from European countries, and two from African nations.

Ahmad Al Suwaidi, the Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, welcomed the " Your Donation saves lives 2” initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and charitable integration to achieve quality initiatives that target those most in need. He stated, "The association carries out an annual project to address the health and medical needs of resident patients. In this humanitarian spirit, we felt it was our duty to respond and support the humanitarian initiative launched by 'Emarat Al Youm', in collaboration with the Al Jalila Foundation and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, titled “Your Donation saves lives 2” in its second season, to save 67 patients with renal failure and those requiring kidney transplants in Dubai."

Al Suwaidi added that the association is opening the door for donations for two renal failure patients, with a total target of AED 1,380,000 to support the initiative and promote kidney transplant efforts for renal failure patients.

He explained that the association has provided a seamless environment for donors and benevolent individuals to contribute via its website, the Dubai Charity app, innovative smart donation boxes placed in shopping centers, retail stores, fuel stations, and other public places, as well as through credit cards or the association’s bank accounts. Communication can also be made through the contact center at the main office in Al Muhaisnah 2 and the association's branch at Avenue Mall in Nad Al Sheba.



Dr. Amer Mohammed Al Zarooni, the Executive Director of Al Jalila Foundation, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the " Your Donation saves lives 2" initiative, whether from institutions or individuals, and highlighted the support of Dubai Charity Association with AED 1,380,000.

He added that " Your Donation saves lives 2" is based on a fundamental principle adopted by the UAE, which is humanitarian work and assisting patients, adhering to the noble values and high principles emphasized by the leadership, following the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, who was known for his aid and assistance to those in need. He noted that the initiative has raised a total of AED 19.6 million so far. Ibrahim Shukrallah, the Editor-in-Chief of "Emarat Al Youm", praised Dubai Charity Association's support for the initiative, contributing AED 1,380,000, and thanked institutions and individual donors for their contributions since the initiative’s launch in its second season. He affirmed that this donation is not unusual for the community of the UAE and its institutions, highlighting their continuous support for humanitarian and community initiatives.

He mentioned that the total donations collected for this initiative reached AED 19,624,625, sufficient to treat and perform kidney transplants for 33 patients. The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department contributed AED 4 million, the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai provided AED 1 million, a private donor contributed AED 7.5 million, Al Waleed Real Estate donated AED 300,000, the Arab Investment and Foreign Trade Bank provided AED 1 million, the Tahrim Charity Foundation donated AED 1 million, Dubai Islamic Bank contributed AED 3,444,625, and Dubai Charity Association contributed AED 1,380,000.
