Donor promises to pay AED 13,7 to renew Patient’s health insurance in coordination with IACAD and “Hotline”

Donor promises to pay AED 13,7 to renew Patient’s health insurance in coordination with IACAD and “Hotline”

A donor has promised to pay AED 13,750 for getting the health insurance card renewed for patient (Umm Mazen), which expired months ago, as her husband has been unable to afford the renewal costs of her health card due to losing his source of income and inability to secure the treatment costs for his wife, after making an appeal to the people of charity. The "hotline" made coordination between the donor and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD), for transferring the donation amount to the Health Insurance Company for getting the card renewed.

The husband said that the symptoms started to befall his wife two years ago, which necessitated her admission to hospital, where tests showed a tumor in her breast. Despite receiving treatment using her health insurance card, the card recently expired and the husband was unable to get it renewed due to his troubled financial situation. He added that his family, which consists of five people, currently relies on help from the neighbors, as a result of his son losing his job and the difficulty of securing a new job opportunity.

The patient's husband expressed his great happiness and deep gratitude to the donor, appreciating his generous support for him during his financial distress. On July 22, “Emarat Al Youm” published the suffering story of the 63-year-old patient (Umm Mazen - Sudanese), who had been suffering from breast cancer for two years. She needed special treatment, medications and regular health follow-ups at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
