As part of the intensive preparations for the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan, His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Muhairi, Director-General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, held an extensive meeting with the imams of mosques participating in the "Localization of Minbar" initiative. The meeting took place at IACAD’s main auditorium in the Al-Mamzar area.
This meeting is part of IACAD’s ongoing efforts to elevate religious discourse and achieve its strategic vision of being "Closer to the Community." His Excellency emphasized the importance of the "Localization of Minbar" initiative in preparing Emirati preachers who are capable of delivering balanced sermons that align with the needs of the community and address contemporary issues, especially during Ramadan, which sees an increased number of worshipers.
The Director-General stressed the need to deliver sermons and religious lessons characterized by moderation and balance, reflecting the concerns of the community, in line with the vision of the wise leadership to solidify Islamic identity and promote Emirati culture.
He also highlighted that these efforts are part of IACAD’s commitment to strengthening the relationship between Masjid and the community, based on its strategy "Closer to the Community," which aims to make religious services more impactful and relevant to the needs of individuals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency noted that the success of Ramadan is not only measured by acts of worship but also by the positive impact imams have on the hearts and minds of the people. He called on everyone to exert efforts to achieve a balance between outstanding performance and conveying the message of mercy and piety that distinguishes the holy month of Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates.
