"Closer to the Community": The New Strategic Plan of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has developed a range of projects and initiatives for the strategic cycle (2025-2027) that align with the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 2033 and meet the aspirations of the diverse community in Dubai. The new strategy focuses on collaborative work among government entities and strengthens effective partnerships with the private sector and public benefit sector to achieve community aspirations and make a tangible impact.

Commenting on the launch of the new strategy, His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al-Mehairi, Director General of the Department, affirmed that the Department's strategy (2025-2027) reflects the wise leadership's directives to engage with the community and transition to a proactive approach in providing services. The aim is to bring programs, activities, and events closer and more accessible to individuals in the community.

His Excellency noted that the Department's strategy emphasizes several key community segments, including Emirati families, mosque-goers, donors, mosque sponsors, as well as charitable and Islamic institutions and fundraisers within the Dubai community.

The Director General also emphasized that the strategy is based on the concept of partnership and collective action with all relevant parties, including community members, to achieve the Department's vision and mission of being closer to the community. He further explained that in the first phase of the strategy, 14 strategic projects have been launched to contribute to realizing the Department's vision. Among these, the Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition for Dubai school students, the Ghars Al-Khayr project, and the Emirati Family Services Package project were announced today, with additional projects to be announced in the upcoming phase.
