As part of the 'Ramadan in Dubai' initiative for the year 1445H, launched under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Council, the Department of Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities will host Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy at the “Dubai Readers” event. He will lead the Isha and Taraweeh prayers today and tomorrow at the mosque of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum in Zabeel, alongside Muezzin Al-Freij.
Jassim Al-Khazraji, the Head of the Dubai Readers Team, mentioned that the Department has been regularly hosting Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy at the Dubai Readers event each year, alongside a selection of renowned reciters from the Islamic world. This initiative aims to revive the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) by conducting Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers and offering the opportunity to listen to the recitation of the Holy Quran by some of the most melodious and soothing voices in the Arab and Islamic world, within Dubai's mosques, noting that this year, Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy will lead the Isha and Taraweeh prayers, with the participation of "Muezzin Al-Freij" Muhammad Yusuf Muhammad Abbas today, and tomorrow with the participation of Muezzin Al-Freij, Abdullah Arif Al-Badawi. It is worth noting that Muezzin Al-Freij was specifically chosen to provide the Dubai Readers with the beauty of sound, creating a Ramadan atmosphere filled with spirituality, mercy, and forgiveness, celebrating the arrival of the holy month with its profound customs, spiritualities and authentic social traditions, all under one unified endeavor.
He further emphasized that the inaugural edition of the Muezzin Al-Freij initiative introduced by the Department of Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities in Dubai this year received a warm reception from the public, both within the Emirate of Dubai and across the wider UAE. Additionally, it garnered appreciation and commendation from our esteemed leaders, may Allah protect them.
