Donor pays for surgery in coordination with IACAD and the "Hotline"

Donor pays for surgery in coordination with IACAD and the "Hotline"

A donor has undertaken to pay for the cost of an urgent surgery for Sultan, 24 years old, amounting to AED 61,508 at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi, through coordination between the hotline of the Emarat Al Youm newspaper with The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, by transferring the amount to the patient's hospital account.

On July 29, "Emarat Al Youm" published the story of a young person, Sultan, who had experienced a traffic accident that led to severe deformities and damage to the tendons of his left hand. Sultan was on his way to visit a friend in his father's car when the car flipped four times at a turn, causing his left hand to be shattered, as it was outside the window during the accident. Sultan was then transferred to Sheikh SSMC where he received the necessary treatment, and remained in intensive care for one and a half months.

After a period of treatment, the doctors asserted that he needed an urgent surgery on his left hand due to severe tendon injuries and major deformities, which greatly affected his ability to move.

Sultan said that the high cost of the surgery made it difficult for him to secure the required amount, particularly as his father is the sole breadwinner for the family with a monthly income of not more than AED 5,000, which hardly covers rent and basic living requirements. Sultan expressed his happiness and deep gratitude to the donor, pointing out that this generosity is not unusual for individuals and institutions of the State to support those in need, particularly at hard times.
