A donor has covered the full cost of a surgical operation for the child “Amjad” (Syrian, seven months old), following the publication of his case in Emarat Al Youm on the 16th of this month. The infant was suffering from a congenital condition involving the abnormal placement of the urethral opening beneath the penis, which required urgent surgical intervention to correct and ensure healthy development, while preventing potential future complications. The family’s difficult financial situation had prevented them from securing the required amount for the surgery, estimated at AED 20,000.

The “Hotline” coordinated between the donor and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai to transfer the donation directly to the hospital account. The donor, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed willingness to bear the full cost of the operation, as well as any additional medical expenses related to the treatment, in order to ensure the child receives timely and proper care.

For his part, the child’s father expressed deep gratitude for this humanitarian gesture, noting that the support restored hope to his family after a period of distress and inability to afford the treatment, given his limited monthly income of AED 5,000. He added that this act significantly eased his psychological burden, especially as doctors had stressed the importance of performing the surgery promptly to avoid complications that could affect the child’s future health.

He further explained that he had been living in a state of anxiety and fear for his son’s wellbeing, particularly after doctors warned that delaying the surgery could lead to urinary system problems or recurrent infections, potentially impacting the child’s normal growth.

He emphasized that this initiative not only helped treat his son but also restored peace of mind to the entire family, giving Amjad a chance at a normal, pain-free life. He concluded by praying for the donor, asking God to reward him abundantly and bless his wealth and family, stressing that this generous act will remain unforgettable.

Doctors noted that Amjad’s condition is relatively common and that the corrective surgery is considered routine with high success rates, especially when performed at the appropriate age and by a specialized medical team. They affirmed that early intervention plays a crucial role in preventing complications and ensuring healthy development.

They also highlighted the importance of community support in helping patients access necessary treatment, particularly in cases not covered by health insurance. Such initiatives, they said, reflect a strong sense of social solidarity and embody noble humanitarian values that strengthen community cohesion and compassion.
