A Donor Pays AED 10,000 of "Um Maher" Treatment Costs in Coordination with IACAD and the "Hotline"

A Donor Pays AED 10,000 of "Um Maher" Treatment Costs in Coordination with IACAD and the "Hotline"

A donor has covered AED 10,000 of the treatment costs for "Um Maher," who suffers from myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease that later developed into multiple sclerosis over three years ago. The donation was coordinated between the donor and The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai through the "Hotline" to transfer the donation to the relevant authorities, ensuring that she receives treatment as quickly as possible.

Although her condition improved after receiving treatment earlier, the disease returned about a year ago in a more severe form, causing her persistent fatigue, vision impairment, and loss of mobility.

"Um Maher" is currently receiving treatment at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. She requires specialized injection medication to help control the disease, along with other medications to treat chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and cholesterol.

The cost of the required injections is AED 33,623, and the donor contributed AED10,000 , leaving a remaining balance of AED 23,623 , which exceeds her husband’s limited financial means.

"Um Maher's" mother expressed her deep gratitude to the donor, appreciating this humanitarian gesture and confirming that the people of the UAE are known for their compassion and solidarity with humanitarian cases. She hopes that other kind-hearted individuals will continue to support them in securing the remaining amount needed to save her daughter’s life.

It is worth noting that "Emirates Today" newspaper had published a report on the 6th of last month about "Um Maher," a 36-year-old Syrian woman, who suffers from the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which affects the nerves and causes complications, including loss of the ability to walk and see.
