A donor covers the cost of AED 17,000 for medications and check-ups for "Um Amal" in coordination with the IACAD and the hotline.

A donor covered the cost of AED 17,052 for medications and regular check-ups for "Um Amal" (57 years old), who suffers from type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol levels. Her health condition deteriorated after she stopped taking her medications, leading to other health complications. The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of coordinated with the hotline to transfer the donation amount to the patient's hospital account, enabling her to continue her treatment and acquire the prescribed medications.

"Um Amal" expressed her deep gratitude to the donor, noting that this generosity reflects the spirit of giving and assistance in the Emirati community. It is worth mentioning that "Um Amal" had previously spoken about her struggles, having discovered her illness while working in a private health sector in 2014, following severe fatigue, vision problems, and numbness. Medical tests revealed a sharp increase in her sugar and cholesterol levels, resulting in insufficient insulin production by her pancreas.

Despite being prescribed medications and receiving advice from her doctor to adhere to a specific diet and exercise, the cost of treatment, amounting to 17,052 dirhams annually, exceeds her family's financial capacity. The family, consisting of four members, relies on the income of her eldest daughter, who earns a monthly salary of 6,000 dirhams, which is spent on rent and daily expenses, leaving "Um Amal" unable to bear the cost of her treatment.
