In a new milestone on the path of excellence, the Maktoum Centers for Quran Memorization and its Sciences—affiliated with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai—achieved a significant accomplishment with their male and female students winning eight top positions in the 23rd edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Holy Quran and Its Sciences Award for the year 2024–2025. This award is one of the most prestigious Quranic competitions in the UAE, attracting elite memorizers from across the Emirates.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, honored the winning students at a ceremony held in recognition of their excellence. He expressed his pride and appreciation for this honorable achievement, affirming that investing in Quranic education is an investment in building individuals capable of serving their communities and representing their nation in the highest forums. His Excellency also praised the efforts of the Quran teachers and families, noting that this success is a result of cooperation and integration between institutions and a supportive family environment.
He emphasized that these results serve as motivation to continue developing Quranic teaching methods and enhancing community participation in supporting this noble mission, in line with the wise leadership’s vision of strengthening Islamic and national identity, and making the UAE a model in supporting Quran memorizers and promoting moderation and balance.
Students from Maktoum Centers distinguished themselves across various categories of the award—from full memorization to partial sections and recitation—securing top and advanced ranks at the national level. This reflects the effectiveness of the educational programs implemented by the department and its commitment to preparing a balanced and proficient Quranic generation.
The honoring ceremony included a distinguished group of male and female students who showcased outstanding performance. Among them was Omar Jalal Abbas, who won first place in the full Quran memorization category, and Mohsen Yahya Shafal, who secured third place in the 20 Juz' category.
Student Nasser Ali Dawood won first place, and Ahmad Abdul Hakim Al-Ahmad won second place in the 10 Juz' category. Meanwhile, Abdullah Sharif Khoury secured third place in the 5 Juz' category. In the recitation division, Abdullah Kalif Rashid Edan won first place in the "Mizameer Aal Dawood" (Melodious Recitation) category.
In the female division, His Excellency honored student Aisha Al-Seba’i Mohamed Al-Basiony for winning first place in the full Quran memorization category, while Sara Bahdan achieved first place in the 20 Juz' category—highlighting the distinction of female participation in the department’s Quranic circles.
