In alignment with the Government of Dubai’s vision for the “Year of the Community” and in support of sustainable endowment and charitable initiatives, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has announced remarkable achievements by its Donor Relations Section under the Customer Relations Department during the first half of 2025. These accomplishments reflect IACAD’s continued efforts in mosque development and fostering meaningful community partnerships.
Key Achievements: 40 plots of land were allocated for mosque construction in 22 locations across Dubai, including 22 Jami (Friday) mosques and 18 daily prayer mosques, in alignment with the emirate’s urban expansion and demographic growth.
19 new mosques were inaugurated in 19 areas, with total construction costs exceeding AED 150 million and a collective capacity of 15,850 worshippers.
Construction is currently underway for 31 additional mosques, at an estimated cost of AED 239 million, expected to accommodate over 18,000 worshippers upon completion.
6 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading real estate developers to support mosque construction and maintenance in new development zones.
The department received 88 in-kind donations through its Smart Mosque Care platform, with a total estimated value of AED 3.8 million.
Data for 378 mosque donors and sponsors were updated, 7 site visits were conducted with benefactors, and 130 inquiries and service requests were processed efficiently, in addition to addressing 27 complaints within the designated service timeline—highlighting a commitment to transparency and responsive service delivery.
In support of operational sustainability, 6 mosque sponsorship certificates were issued, ensuring the continued operation of several mosques, with an estimated annual value of AED 1.5 million.
To facilitate VAT refund procedures for donors post-construction, 15 official mosque operation certificates were issued.
Community Engagement – “Masajid Al-Fareej” Initiative: As part of the grassroots “Masajid Al-Fareej” initiative:
43 mosques were newly furnished with premium-quality carpets, covering more than 19,000 square meters, at a cost of approximately AED 2.475 million, made possible through community contributions.
Awareness efforts included the production of six promotional videos, a dedicated radio segment on “Sout Al Waqe’,” and a live television interview.
