The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai continues its humanitarian efforts during the holy month of Ramadan. Its charitable initiative "Distribution of Iftar Meals" has seen a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries, reaching a total of over 2.4 million individuals served to date. This initiative is a true reflection of the values of social solidarity and the spirit of giving that characterize this blessed month.
Coinciding with the Year of Community, this initiative combines charitable work with volunteering, contributing to delivering goodness to various segments of society. More than 1,900 permits were issued for meal distribution across different areas of the emirate, helping to expand the reach and assist the most needy.
The initiative not only focused on meal distribution but also placed great emphasis on community awareness. Over 26,000 people benefited from awareness workshops held in Ramadan tents, aimed at promoting positive values and healthy behaviors during the holy month.
As part of promoting a culture of goodness and giving, the "Meals of Heroes" initiative, in collaboration with Talabat, distributed over 1,400 meals, reflecting the spirit of social responsibility.
In this context, Mohammed Musabeh Dhahi,, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and Coordinator of Ramadan Initiative in Dubai, confirmed that the large turnout for the meal distribution initiative reflects the community's cohesion and sincere desire to support those in need during Ramadan. He added that the department continues this humanitarian approach in line with the vision of our wise leadership, which has made charitable work a fundamental pillar of our society.
Dhahi praised the support of strategic partners and sponsors, whose cooperation and backing have had a significant impact on achieving this success and enhancing the initiative's reach across different segments of society.
The department emphasizes that these initiatives are part of its strategy to instill a culture of giving and promote social solidarity values, in alignment with the UAE’s vision to be a global model in the fields of humanitarian and voluntary work.
