Overview
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department responsible for Hajj and Umrah affairs in Dubai in which the department is tasked with overseeing activities related to Hajj and Umrah. Its duties include creating a comprehensive database of campaign offices and coordinating communication with them regarding updates. The department also organizes cultural and administrative programs associated with these activities.
Additionally, the department is responsible for providing and coordinating the work of preachers and scholars to accompany the campaigns, as well as preparing and implementing annual plans and programs for the official Hajj mission. The department also organizes the Umrah campaigns for the department and participates in official Hajj missions. Other responsibilities include providing religious awareness to pilgrims and Umrah performers in collaboration with relevant authorities, and coordinating with local and international entities on all matters related to Hajj and Umrah.
Health Measures Before Departing for Hajj:
All pilgrims heading to the holy pilgrimage of Hajj are advised to visit health service centers to receive the necessary vaccinations. It is important to note that these vaccinations require at least two weeks to take effect and provide optimal protection, ensuring the body achieves the highest levels of immunity against diseases..
Organizations and Government Entities Sponsoring Hajj
Several organizations in the country facilitate Hajj trips for citizens who cannot afford the expenses. These include:
- Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works
- Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
- Abu Dhabi Rehabilitation Center.
These organizations prioritize senior citizens, widows, divorced individuals, and those with limited incomes, as well as individuals whose Hajj applications were not approved in previous years. Applicants must have never performed Hajj before and be at least 40 years old.
These institutions also support individuals with limited incomes from outside the country. However, their applications must be submitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE embassies abroad, or the accredited agencies of these institutions.
