As part of the “Ramadan in Dubai” campaign, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai launched the fifth season of the “Step for Life” initiative, in line with the directives of Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the objectives of the Year of Family 2026. The initiative converts participants’ daily steps, tracked through the STEPPi app, into charitable donations funded by the department on their behalf in support of Al Jalila Foundation. It combines promoting a healthy lifestyle with fostering a culture of giving, while encouraging family participation and positive competition among neighborhoods.     Month of Reading: “A Family Reads” Initiative

    The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department is organizing a special initiative as part of Reading Month 2026 under the title “A Family That Reads,” aiming to promote a culture of reading within families and instill a love of knowledge among girls. The initiative offers an interactive program based on the e-book “Illustrated Jurisprudence of Acts of Worship – Book of Purification,” presented in a simple and engaging style. It includes a variety of activities such as creating mind maps and designing creative projects, along with participation certificates for attendees. The initiative targets girls aged 8–13 and 14–18, and will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 28–29, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM via Microsoft Teams (online). Registration is available by scanning the QR code provided in the announcement. This initiative reflects a commitment to building a generation of readers and fostering aware families that contribute to shaping a better future.

    A Stable Family… A Cohesive Society

    The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, represented by the Umm Al Sheif Cultural Islamic Center, is organizing an awareness lecture titled “A Stable Family… A Cohesive Society.” This lecture comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance family awareness and reinforce authentic social values within the community. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Adel Hassan Mohammed Al Marzouqi. It will address several key themes, including the dangers of disobedience to parents and its negative impact on both individuals and society, while presenting practical examples that reflect the meanings of gratitude and kindness toward parents. The lecture will also highlight community messages that strengthen family loyalty and promote the values of compassion and appreciation within the Muslim household. The lecture is scheduled to take place on March 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams. The department invites Dubai Government employees and the general public to participate and benefit from this educational session by registering and joining through the Microsoft Teams platform.

    The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department is organizing the “Means of Steadfastness in Ramadan” event, presented by Dr. Najat Alawi, on March 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The lecture will focus on maintaining continuity in acts of worship after Ramadan through key topics, including: The importance of consistency in worship and avoiding seasonal devotion. Identifying the main causes of spiritual decline after periods of heightened devotion and ways to address them. Practical methods for steadfastness and righteousness, including simple daily programs to help maintain worship after Ramadan. This event is part of the Department’s efforts to raise religious awareness and provide practical guidance to the community to sustain steadfastness in faith and devotion.
