What is the Mutawwa’ Al-Freej initiative?

As part of supporting Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, and in line with the strategic objectives of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai to be closer to the community, IACAD has announced the opening of registration for its new initiative, “Mutawwa’ Al-Freej.” The program is dedicated to teaching the Holy Quran — memorization and recitation — for Emirati boys aged 6 to 13 years, with registration open from April 21 to April 30, 2025, ahead of the program’s launch on May 4.

This initiative represents one of IACAD’s educational pathways aimed at fostering community trust and providing a safe and licensed educational environment for children and their families. It goes beyond teaching Quranic recitation and memorization, seeking instead to strengthen children's connection to Allah and His Messenger, and to nurture a spiritual bond with acts of worship — all within a framework that respects family values and caters to the needs of the new generation.

Statement by H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, emphasized that the program is a continuation of IACAD’s commitment to launching solid community initiatives that combine high-quality content with deep impact. He stated that “Mutawwa’ Al-Freej” embodies IACAD’s vision to be a trusted reference and a source of knowledge security for the community’s youth. He further noted that the initiative aims to create a safe educational space that nurtures a love for the Quran in the hearts of children, helping them connect to its guidance through a comprehensive learning experience. The program contributes to raising a generation that is confident in its identity, rooted in its faith, and aligned with the values of the Emirati community.
